There’s no technically required minimum size, but most people believe if the assets to be put in the foundation are less than a million dollars, that it may not be efficient, that a donor-advised fund may be the solution there. Although, I have many colleagues that set them up frequently for people who are gifting $500,000. I would say $500,000 is the absolute minimum. Some people think maybe a million is the minimum.
