WhAT Is An Executor (Personal Representative) And What Does The Executor Do?

Video Transcription:

In the state of Florida, we don’t actually use the term executor, which is used in many, many of our 50 states. We use the term personal representative. They’re really one in the same, but what the personal representative does is that’s the person that the probate court has charged with upholding the terms of the will, marshaling the assets of the estate, paying all of the decedents debts and obligations, notifying creditors, and then finally, dispersing and distributing the estate assets pursuant to the terms of distribution of the last will and testament.
