Without an updated health care surrogate, your loved ones could end up left in the dark if you were unable to make medical decisions for yourself.

If you get sick with the virus and are hospitalized, you need your loved ones to have access to speak with your doctors about your prognosis and make medical decisions for you if you were unable to do so. You would need a properly signed health care surrogate or a living will that has the correct HIPPA Release language allowing your loved ones to talk to the doctor about your medical situation.
